Kettlebell Trainer - Testimonials
Wayne Okell MBE- Royal Navy & GB Armed Forces - Rugby League Coach
We have had 2 very successful seasons with Navy and GB Armed Forces RL teams, winning a 3-0 series whitewash in Australia as well as some superb domestic wins and finishing in the final of the International York 9’s in July 2007. This has been down to our approach to the physical aspects of our preparation; we incorporated kettlebells into each player’s routines and have recently upgraded and developed the strength and conditioning coaches’ qualifications courtesy of Sam Dovey.
The great thing about this course is the aftercare that Sam and his team provide, we are always in touch with them for an opinion, or advice, even sharing training tips and we are once again gaining good results from this form of training.
We have 5 young international players in the squad; therefore we need to stay ahead of the chasing pack. The players are hungry for knowledge and want to be as successful as possible in their playing careers, so its upto us to provide the vehicle for them to excel.
We believe that nothing of value may be acquired by simply going through the motions; real training and fitness is earned. In such an environment a proper attitude toward competition and individual sport performance is almost automatically achieved. We train with the same commitment we take into competition; keep good form throughout whilst giving everything to the task in hand.
The gains have been superb so far and Sam and his team have given us new focus and direction, long may it continue.
Many, many thanks indeed.
Phil Leighton - Customer Services Manager
I needed a keep fit and healthy eating plan along with the motivation to get myself in shape in preparation for my wedding. Kettlebell trainer had a concept that caught my attention as they offered a solution that would get me fit, conditioned and lose weight for my bride to be. Since beginning my training with Sam & Kettlebell Trainer I have lost over a 3 stone in weight and gained one stone in muscle.
I am now fitter, stronger and leaner, losing a total of 10 inches of fat over my body. Sam has trained me now to a level where I am now going from a beginner with Kettlebells to using advanced Techniques.
Paul Ryan - Account Manager
Whilst I was initially very sceptical about radically altering my intensive training regime, built up over 7 years, I found myself reaching a new personal best on my bench within a couple of months.
I now spend three days rather than four at the gym and work on sophisticated yet easy to understand programs that match my training goals and interests.
Sam Dovey has invested to understand far more techniques and approaches to training than any professional instructor or keen strength trainer I have ever met. My routines now frequently include the best tools developed across the world.
I even have trainers in my local gym asking me to share my approach given the recent gains I have made.
Ian Sherratt - Sales Director
As a Sales Director I have a very busy lifestyle, but I do like to keep fit. I mostly use gymnasiums at Hotels (because I am never at home), which can vary hugely in facilities and trainer experience. I decided that I "need to have a trainer I can trust who is there when I need him, and is the same person each time and suitably qualified.
I have now had several personal training sessions with Sam from kettlebelltrainer, and have found the experience invaluable. The programs that Sam has set up for me have been achievable and, best of all, are delivering results!
The last session included an introduction to the kettlebell workout, and I can recommend this above just about anything else I have tried. I have now ordered my own and will be taking it with me on my travels in future. It is an excellent whole body workout, is quick and easy to do anywhere. If you are busy like me, you should contact them. I can highly recommend it!
Andy Shaw - World Ranked BMX Racer
I've been involved in competitive BMX racing at a national and international level for over 20years.This is a sport that involves a high level of strength and sprint training and over the years i have benefited greatly from training routines, techniques and advice from Sam Dovey.Himself a competitive cyclist for many years.
This has helped me notch up various podium finishes both at home and abroad. The pinnacle of my career of which was 2006 where i placed 5th in the UEC European championships and 4th in the UCI World championships in Sau Paulo,Brazil in the 30-34 age class.
The advice i have received over the years has proved invaluable and has helped achieve my life long goals.
Jeff Dovey - Powerlifter & Masters 4 Cross National #3
I have been racing 4X on Mountain bikes now for the last two seasons and it is always the winter months from October to the end of March that all my heavy weights are pushed and pulled in order to make maximum power and strength gains for the start of the new season.
Last winter (05-06) my younger brother finally convinced me to let him help me out with my training, something I had always been unsure of as I was pretty sure that me being older would know far more than him about increasing the weights I move. I ended up eating a large portion of humble pie as a result. My deadlift was up to 185kgs and he felt that it was my grip that was letting me down so he gave me a 6 week wave cycle for deadlifting with a view to attempting a one rep max in week 7. He also gave me a grip routine to follow using the Captain of crush grippers. The outcome was that in week 7 I singled after warming up, with 200kgs then 225kgs!! I was well chuffed.
As far as my Olympic lifting, my power cleans that I had also used lifting straps to perform, went up 20kgs on my one rep max, which was also after a 6 week wave cycle and I no longer required the lifting straps. To summarise, he may be my younger and as I thought less knowledgeable brother, but his methods worked for me and for that I owe him big time.
Nice one Sam.
